Roitfeld es un icono de la moda, un ídolo al cual seguir. Para muchos otros
incluyéndome a mí es como una maestra de la moda. La ex directora de la vogue francesa ha pisado muy fuerte por
este gran mundo.
Nació en París el
1954, hija del productor de cine Jacques Roitfeld el cual ella consideraba su
mayor ídolo. Con dieciocho años empezó su carrera de modelo cuando el asistente
de un fotógrafo británico la paro por la calle, y así se empezó a conocer. En
el 1972 fue contratada por la revista francesa Elle como estilista de moda
y escritora. Tal como ella dijo “Yo
no era la mejor estilista cuando trabajé durante quince años para elle, pero
realmente cuando conocí a Mario Testino
algo pasó”. (Uno de los mejores
fotógrafos de moda). Con él conoció a
muchos diseñadores como Tom Ford, y empezó a trabajar como estilista para
marcas como Gucci y Yves Saint-Laurent, también fue imagen de firmas como
Missoni, Versace y Calvin Klein. En el
2001 el presidente de la revista Condé Nast le propone ser editora de la
revista vogue francesa. En ese momento empezó su colaboración con
vogue, que la hizo llegar hasta lo que es hoy.

For many people Carine Roitfeld
is a fashion icon, an idol to follow. For many others, including me, she is
like a fashion teacher. The ex-director of the France Vogue has made a big impact
in the actual world of fashion.
She was born in Paris 1954 and
was daughter of the cinema Producer Jacques Roitfeld. She considered Jacques
his idol. At the age of eighteen she began his model career when the assistant
of a British photographer stopped her in the street, in this way she started to
be known. In 1972 the French magazine Elle contracted her as fashion stylisist
and writer. As she said “I was not the best stylist when i worked for fifteen
years for Elle, but certainly when i met Mario Testino something happened”

Ford, and started working as stylist for brands like Gucci or Yves
Saint-Laurent, also it was the imatge of Missoni, Versace and Calvin Klein. In
2001 the main editor of the magazine Condé Nast proposed her to be a Publisher
of the Vogue France. As a result, she began her colaboration with Vogue and
that made her be what she is today.
